Terms of Service and License Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and RealValuation LLC, an Arizona limited liability company ("we", "us"), the maker of Best Link Manager (the "Software"), a Microsoft Word add-in. By buying, installing or using the Software, or using bestlinkmanager.com (the "Site"), you agree to these terms. If you're accepting them for a company, you confirm you have authority to bind it, and "you" means that company.

1. Your license

When you buy a license and we receive payment, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software:

  • on up to 2 computers at a time, by you or, for a company, by the one person the license is assigned to;
  • with no expiration date, for the version you bought and any later versions we choose to make available to you at no charge.

You can move your license between computers by deactivating it on one (License › Deactivate This Computer) and activating it on another. If a computer is lost or broken, contact us and we'll free up its slot. Need licenses for several people? Contact us.

2. What you may not do

  • Share, publish, sell or give away your license key, or use it on more computers than your license allows.
  • Resell, rent, lend, sublicense or redistribute the Software.
  • Remove, disable or get around the license checks, or help anyone else do so.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Software, except to the extent the law expressly allows despite this restriction.

The Software is licensed, not sold. We (and our licensors) keep all ownership and intellectual property rights in it. Your documents and data are yours; we claim no rights in them.

3. Price, payment and refunds

  • The price is shown at checkout in US dollars, as a one-time payment; there's no subscription. Payments are processed by Stripe. You're responsible for any taxes that apply to your purchase.
  • 30-day money-back guarantee: if you're not satisfied, email us within 30 days of purchase and we'll refund the full price. When a purchase is refunded (or charged back), its license is revoked, and the Software stops working on each computer the next time it checks in with our license service online (see section 4).

4. Activation and license checks

The Software needs an internet connection to activate and deactivate. After activation it works offline. About once a month, when you're online, it checks with our license service whether the license is still valid. A license is only switched off if our service confirms that it was refunded, revoked for a breach of these terms, or deactivated on that computer. If the service can't be reached, the Software keeps working. See our Privacy Policy for what's sent during these checks.

We don't promise to keep the Site, the installer downloads, or the license service available for any particular length of time, and we may discontinue them. Activating the Software on a new computer, moving your license, and downloading the installer depend on them. Copies you've already activated keep working without them.

5. Updates and support

We provide email support at no extra charge. We aim to answer within 1–2 business days but don't guarantee response times or that every issue can be fixed.

Your purchase is for the Software as it is when you buy it. We may release updates or new versions, but we're not obligated to, and we may change, improve or stop developing the Software at any time. Any update or new version may be offered free or as a separate purchase, at our choice.

6. Requirements

The Software requires Microsoft Windows and desktop versions of Microsoft Word and Excel, as described on the Guide and Download pages. It's your responsibility to check that it works in your environment; the 30-day refund exists for exactly that. Company computers may need your IT department's approval to install it.

7. Check your work

The Software copies values and tables from your workbooks into your documents when you tell it to. You're responsible for the accuracy of your workbooks and documents, for reviewing documents before relying on or sending them, and for keeping backups. Update links before finalizing a document so it reflects your current data.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

EXCEPT FOR THE REFUND GUARANTEE ABOVE, THE SOFTWARE AND SITE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT IT WILL WORK WITH EVERY VERSION OR CONFIGURATION OF MICROSOFT OFFICE OR WINDOWS.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WON'T BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR BUSINESS, OR ERRORS IN DOCUMENTS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SOFTWARE OR SITE, EVEN IF WE'VE BEEN TOLD SUCH DAMAGES ARE POSSIBLE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SOFTWARE OR SITE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR YOUR LICENSE. Some places don't allow certain exclusions or limits, so some of these may not apply to you.

10. Ending the license

You can stop using the Software at any time. We may end your license if you materially break these terms (for example by sharing your key), which may include deactivating it. Sections 2 and 7 through 12 continue to apply after the license ends.

11. Microsoft and other third parties

Best Link Manager is an independent product. It isn't made, endorsed or supported by Microsoft. Microsoft, Word, Excel, Office, OneDrive and Windows are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation. Your use of Microsoft products is governed by Microsoft's own terms.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Arizona, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. Before filing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time and will change the date at the top when we do. Changes apply to purchases made after the update; the terms in effect when you bought your license continue to govern that license unless you agree otherwise.

14. General

These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Software. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our not enforcing a term isn't a waiver of it. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them to a successor of the business.
